Lush Cosmetics Haul

Lush is a body, bath and shower cosmetics company that fights for animal testing, uses fresh, natural ingredients and each product is freshly handmade. I have recently just been interested in the company due to friends using their products and I have been using them myself. A couple days ago I went shopping and picked up a few little things that interested me so I decided to do a little review!

Firstly, it seems as though I suffer from eczema, where I can't stop scratching my hands, wrists, fingers, back of my legs, and its frustrating me as it makes me feel self conscious about my body. My friend told me to try one of their best selling products, 'Dream Cream'. This is a hand and body lotion which retails at £13.50 for the 240 gram pot and is a 'soothing and cooling cream that is designed to go on even the most sensitive and easily upset skins'. It features ingredients like Oat Milk for soothing, as well as Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter for softening and conditioning. Obviously, I have sensitive skin so hopefully using this product would eventually clear up and moisture up my skin to get rid of the eczema. The product's smell is hard to describe; it just smells like a generic hand or foot cream, which is fine but a product with a nice smell is always a bonus. The enthusiastic Lush worker told me to keep using this once or twice a day to see results and since I bought it I haven't seen much change. Yet, it has only been a couple days so this may eventually change and hopefully see my skin clear up. I do notice the redness of my skin has decreased on my hands and the backs of my legs, which is a great sign. I do recommend this as a product as a daily hand and body lotion as it does keep your hands and body soft for the day.

Another product that I found was really nice was the 'Oatifix', which retails at £7.25 for a 75 gram pot. This is a fresh face mask that 'cleanses, softens and moisturises dry and sensitive skin', which I thought would be perfect for my skin as it is already quite dry and itchy. You put a normal amount of the product onto your fingers and rub around your face, avoiding the eyes, leaving on your face for 5 to 10 minutes. I left mine on for a little bit longer because silly me I forgot to take it off. The product smells like oats with a hint of banana and smells great on the face - this was probably a reason why I left it on for longer! Leaving the product on for a little bit longer didn't matter too much to how my skin felt after I took it off. I used a lukewarm flannel to wash the product off my face and then used my Neutrogena oil-free moisturiser which left my skin feeling truly well and smooth. Again, I would undoubtedly recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a face mask that cleanses and leaves your skin nice and smooth.

The last product I bought was the 'Mask of Magnaminty Self-Preserving' face and body mask that retails at £11.50 for the 315 gram pot. The difference between the normal Lush products and self-preserving is that they don't require any synthetic preservatives to keep them fresh. Guessing from the title of the product, the mask has a very strong minty smell, which I like and was a key factor as to why I bought the product. The product 'fights eruptions and outbreaks and returns skin to tip top condition' which I think is great for those who's skin breaks out more regularly than other skin types. When putting this on I had to put a lot of the product on for it to reach all around my face, yet Oatifix I only needed to use a smaller amount. This wasn't necessarily a problem as the pot was obviously bigger than Oatifix when you look at the pictures. When taking this off, the mask didn't seem to compare to Oatifix and leave a smooth feel to my skin; it felt the same as my skin usually does. I feel like I would recommend this product to those people that have more skin outbreaks than others as I have seen friends use this product and it's worked well with their spots and blemishes.

What have you bought recently in Lush that you like to use on a daily basis? Do you recommend any of these products? Let me know in the comments below!

Thanks, Harry x
